Pick of the Week - Lou Reed's Berlin

Upon it's release in 1973, Lou Reed's concept album Berlin was poorly received and never performed live for the 33 years following. That is until December 2006 when it was staged for five nights at St. Ann's Warehouse Brooklyn. Fernando Saunders, Antony Hegarty, Emmanuelle Seigner, a seven piece orchestra and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus are all captured under Julian Schnabel's direction to bring this work to the screen. For Lou Reed fans it doesn't get any better than this.
